chapped lips and ice cream

I've got a stupid cold. My lips are chapped. Blagh. I really should be going to sleep. The night has just flown by and I didn't get much of anything accomplished.
For now I'll just share with you my exciting news...

I have a NEW JOB! Yep, yep. I will be starting April 11th as the new (and first ever) Administration Coordinator for the Embassy. It's a paid position. I'll be working with friends and for something I'm passionate about. This is super exciting!
I need to head to sleep.
Night all!

lost sheep, silence, a million thoughts

So I've decided to relaunch my blog. I had started my blog in November. I felt like I wanted to make these amazing ground breaking entries about my life... until I realized how utterly boring I am. :) So I think I made all of 6 entries and now it's 4 months later.
I've been reading a few friends blogs and it got me thinking that I would like to start making entries again. Heck if others can make their lives look interesting surely I can too. ( or at least fill it with inane ramblings, ha)

So with that... here goes!

It's Easter weekend. I'm at my parents for the weekend. Yesterday morning I went to my parents church and met with the youth elder and his wife afterwards. Seems as though my sister and I are on the "lost sheep" list. lol. So Michelle and I both shared about where we each have decided to attend church. Seems they have a tough time accepting that we don't want to got to a CRC church. Man, I don't get what the big deal is! Like, since when is a certain denomination the superior Christian way to do things. Blah, so anyways by the end of our meeting they realized that Michelle and I really do have heads on our shoulders and that our hearts are in the right place. So they have accepted the fact that we will both be removing our memberships from the church. Woohoo! a victory... hopefully this paves the way for others whom have experienced the skepticism that my sister and I have experienced. Thank God for our parents that have always supported us in our individual journeys of faith. Ok, so now that I've got that rant out of my system (feels good) on to better things.

I spent this morning at home with my dad. We went for a walk to our back woods. I have forgotten how silent the world can be. The sky was a vibrant blue, the sun shone brightly, the snow was blinding and all you could hear was the snow crunching beneath our feet. The silence and the company of my father was a blessing.

So I got some great news last week. Alas, I can not share as of yet. This news will be changing my life as I know it... I'm so excited! If you know me at all you will know that I love change, I find it exhilarating and inspiring. Anyways because of this my mind is filled with a million thoughts of what is to come. I promise to share more in the near future.

It was a great weekend except for a few things.
a) I stubbed my toe and it super hurt. It was purple and stuff and I couldn't walk properly all weekend.
b) I realize that I don't really have any friends around here. Lots of acquaintences, lots of people I know but no one that I'm honestly friends with (except for my roommate Jasmine of course).

What was great about the weekend was:
a) I got a chance to meet a bunch of new ppl.
b) My team won the Taco Song game!
c) I did Kareoke for the first time ever! woohoo!

So yeah, all in all it was a great retreat.
