Jasmine came over. Yippee. I didn't realize until I saw her how much I miss having her around. Somehow Justin just isn't the same. haha. The three of us went out to this really cool Greek Restaurant. It was really good except for the fried cheese stuff. Ew! We ended up arriving at Elevation about 30 minutes late. Opps. The evening services are usually a little more relaxed and not so full so it worked out alright. I really enjoyed the service. It's not often that I feel so great after a service. I was almost hyper (must have been something in the Greek food). After the service a bunch of us went out to Eastside Mario's. It was Regan's choice b/c there are no EMs out in BC. He should fix that! ha. It was a great night and was the perfect ending to a fantastic weekend!

Wedding Day!

Chris and Bec were married today!
It was a very nice wedding. It definitely reflected both of them well. It was the most fun I've ever had at a wedding!
They rock! I'm so going to miss them when they move. I know they are going to have a great adventurous life together. Congratulations dudes!

the GRITS experience

I had an interesting night yesterday!
The GRITS were in town and my friend Lisa and I really wanted to see them. They were at Waterloo Rec Complex performing for a closed convention. Meaning that unless you paid to attend the entire weekend, you weren't getting in. Very stupid. Anyways, we knew this before hand so I tried to arrange to be volunteers so that we could get in. I talked to my friend Ben, who talked to his friend Bob. He said we could be volunteers and he'd get us in. Well, Bob never called to let us know when to be there. Our last effort to get in touch with him was Friday afternoon when he was to pick up speakers at my office but he ended up sending someone else to pick them up. Grrr! I then gave Sarah my cell number to give to Ben so that he could call me and let me know whats up. Surprise, well not really, Ben never got my number (at least to my knowledge). But Lisa and I weren't giving up. We decided to go anyways and just tell whomever was at the gate that we were to be volunteers for a guy named Bob and they could varify that with him. We hoped that they would know who Bob was b/c we didn't even know his last name or what he did. Well, the girl at the gate was totally power tripping. Oi! She just basically said that she didn't believe us and that we'd have to pay $75, which was the full price for the entire weekend. It was rediculous b/c GRITS was already playing and they were only playing a 6 song set. I didn't think they were playing until 10pm so we thought we were 1.75 hours early. Nope. We told them at this point that all we wanted to see was the GRITS and that we were willing to pay to see, what would have been 5 songs at this point, but no dice. Frustrating! So I went to the car to get my cell. I wanted to call around to find out who exactly Bob was. Well the people that I got ahold of didn't know and the ones I couldn't get ahold of knew (I found out later that Bob was the sound guy, that would have been great to know! AND he tried calling Ben numerous times friday night to find out where we were). So by this point Lisa and I were pretty desperate to get in. So we found two girls that were not going to see GRITS and we paid them $20 to borrow their bracelets for 30mins. Brutal! By the time we got in there 20mins had passed and there was only 10mins left of their performance, 2 songs later it was over. :( What we saw was awesome!!! They sounded incredible!! We right away got into the thick of it but the place was pretty empty. I would say that there was about 300-350 ppl there and about 100 of those didn't care about the concert. Man, I don't get why the closed convention, they so could have opened up the concerts... there was plenty of room and you'd be able to perhaps make a little money off the thing (I imagine getting numerous better known groups, speakers and renting an entire areana, ain't all that cheap!) Anyways, back to the GRITS. Lisa and I were totally excited that we were actually getting a chance to see them and we've got bragging rights that we got into a closed concert! We loved what we saw so we're going to plan to go on a trip sometime into the states and time it with a concert they're having there (ie. they barely ever come into Canada). After they were done we went over to the merch table (which was also in a "bracelet" area. dumb!) to buy some t-shirts. I recognised the lady behind the table, she's a friend of the people who live upstairs. She agreed to get a photo signed for each of us by the GRITS, who were coming to the table in an hour or so. I really hope she pulls through for us!! And then that as it. Our 30 minutes were up.

Shoe shopping!

I also noticed when I got home that they pretty much match one of the new colours in my hair. Weird. Speaking of hair, like a said a few posts ago I knew I would get used to the dramatic difference of my hair. I love it! no hesitation now. :)

Yikes!

Just a warning... I visited the hairdresser today and got adventurous. It's interesting! I really want to love it. I love the cut and the colour but the way the front colouring panned out is bugging me. The colour like I said is great but the front chunk is too big and I wish it was divided up a little more but there's nothing I can do at this point. It's purely an aesthetics issue so I'm sure I can get over it :) so yeah, it's somewhat shocking so get ready for it!

frustration = no good, friends who care = great!

Oh my, so I got pretty frustrated this evening. It wasn't good (ie. overreaction). So here's how it went down. I had plans to go to Lindsey's place for dinner. I was to be there by 5:30pm. First, I had a busy day at work and didn't have time for lunch therefore I didn't eat anything substantial all day. It also meant that I didn't get a chance to change or put my contacts in. Anyways, 5:05 rolls around which means I'm already running late. I get home by 5:10 which means I've got 5 mins to change, put in my contacts and leave. So I throw my contacts in and change. Only thing is I feel horrible in everything I put on but I finally decide on at long sleeve shirt and navy sweater. But then the zipper on the sweater won't stay up. So I pin it. I put it on, looks as good as it's gonna get. Then the zipper breaks. Grrr... I throw it against the wall. So I fix it (or so I thought) and I put it back on. But it breaks again, I throw it again. Then I find a different shirt to wear. By this time it's 5:25pm. I'm supposed to be there in 5mins but it takes at least 15 to walk. So I decide to call Lindsey and let her know I'm running late. The only spot I have her number is in my cell phone. But my cell phone, I couldn't find, I must have left it in the office. So I decide to call the office, get someone to turn off my phone so that I can change my message to address Lindsey incase she was looking for me. I call, no answer. So I decide to run to the office. I get there all in a huff. I said something short and cryptic to Sarah, I'm not sure what I said, hope I wasn't too rude. I then ran up the stairs only to find that my phone isn't there. You've got to be kidding. So I start running back home. By this time I'm totally angry with myself b/c I must have overlooked my phone, I'm overreacting, I'm frustrated, I feel horrible in all my clothes and I'm angry that I'm angry. Then as I'm running my necklace springs apart and tiny blue beads fly everywhere. So I expressed myself in a loud "argh!" (yeah, for not swearing :) yep I am learning to control that). I get back to my house again by 5:35pm but I still can't find my cell. So I decide to call it from my landline. Sure enough it's in the purse that I already looked in twice. Should have done that in the first place! blah! I can be so dumb about many things! Oh and did I mention that I got lost on my walk and didn't get there until 6:05pm. Yep. But...
Hanging out with Lindsey rocked! She's great! We had a lot of fun catching up. She just moved back to Waterloo on Saturday. I'm looking forward to spending more time with her this summer, for sure!

Spring is a-coming!!

As many of you know it's been horribly cold the past few weeks. Unseasonably so. Most of you that do any hanging out with me know that I've been moaning and groaning about the weather for months now. I got my first taste of spring when I went out to BC at the end of January. I've been wrecked ever since. Anyways, I've been told by Justin that it's supposed to be getting up to 17 degrees by the end of this week so I'm super excited about that. Next weekend is Bec and Chris' Wedding, I hope they are blessed with beautiful weather.
So here's to hoping for sunnier days ahead!

Wow, I can't believe it's almost here already. It feels like just yesterday they got engaged. I'm so happy for them!
I got recruited to create their wedding invitations (see image). I had a lot of fun doing them. I think they turned out great! (Abit a few minor mistakes). I'm also creating the programs, table cards and thankyou cards.
