sweaty armpits!

That's right. My room and most of the apartment smells like a sweaty armpit or kitty litter... whichever you pick. It's really nasty. Last Saturday when we had that tonne of rain my room flooded and then the living area flooded. Crappy engineers! Basically the drains to let the water go under the house where clogged or not placed in the right spot so the water had no where to go. Naturally it filled up the window wells, the windows couldn't handle it and the water started to come through. My room got it the worst. The carpet isn't even dry yet so you can imagine why the smell. I wake up feeling like I slept in a wet dirty sock. The carpet should really be pulled up so the underpadding can dry but it's not my house so I can't do anything as evasive as that. I've used almost half a bottle of febreeze since I bought it this evening. It seems to be helping.

So it's about 20 minutes to 3am and I just got in. Now, if you know me you know that I can never crash as soon as I get home. I usually need about 30mins to wind down so I figured it why not contribute a blog entry.
I don't have too much to say. It's been a fairly quiet week. Oh, my sister and I officially have a new apartment. It's within 10mins of uptown. It's a great price, has lots of room, a great view, and we're allowed to paint! We're both getting pretty excited about it.
Well, it's not much of an entry but I feel the zzz's coming on.

hey tean... this post is for you since I know you check my blog almost everyday. Don't have much to say today. It was stinking hot and will continue to be for the rest of the week. Oh, I'm going to bed before 12 which is the earliest in weeks. Night!

phew it's time to chill

Holy crap another week as just flown by. How is it that my life is running by me?
My last entry was Wednesday.
So Thursday I didn't get home from running errands for work until 7pm or so. It was raining alot and I was loving every minute walking in it. I chilled for a couple of hours which was great b/c I've been going non-stop for about a week. Then worked on some web design layouts for the new Embassy site. I think I was up until 1 or so doing that.
Friday night my sister and I applied for our new apartment. I'm 98% sure it's ours. I'm so excited! It's gonna rock! To celebrate we had dinner at Symposium's outside on the patio. It was so nice! Then we headed to my friend's photography exhibiton at the old button factory. He definitely had some nice pieces. He's there all month, so be sure to check it out. After I got home I chilled for a bit and headed to bed around 12:30am.
Saturday morning I was up by 9pm. oi! I kinda forgot how much stuff I had to do, if I would've remembered I would have gotten more accomplished on Friday. I first did some work on my computer, then I went into the office, then I went grocery shopping for Nadine's Surprise BBQ on Sunday. After I came home I showered and got ready to go out. I made half of a dessert for the bbq and grabbed the bus at 4:30pm. I got off downtown to buy a card and a present, hoped back on the bus and headed into the southwestern Kitchener area. I finally arrived at Tania's engagement party around 6:15pm. It was very strange to see all these people from college. I don't even know how to be myself around them anymore. Ah it was tough... but so good. I realized that as much as we've grown apart these people don't just have to be apart of my past they can be apart of my future. I left around quarter after eight and arrived home at 9:30 after 2 buses and a cab ride. I did some more prep for Nadine's bbq and headed to sleep after midnight once again.
Sunday I was awake at 8am. Did some more prep for the bbq and headed to church just after 10am. After church Michelle and I got out of there as soon as we could so we could go and decorate and prepare for the surprise. Well, we did it! We surprised Nadine and she had no idea! It was awesome! After everyone headed home Nadine, Michelle and I went to Michelle's mom's place for her birthday dinner. Wow, I'm still so stuffed! I ate way too much today. I got home around 9pm, threw in a load of wash and vegged infront of the tv for a couple of hours. nice. So now I'm somewhat relaxed though I've gotta clean up some of my room before I head to sleep b/c it's a distaster and all I really want to do is ignore it. :) Well today is already here. Wow, I must get some sleep. Night! oh and by the way I think these blow by blows aren't all that interesting for you folks so don't expect me to continue in this manner :)

happy belated 138th!

So our wonderful country turned 138 years young this past weekend. Cool. Go Canada... I'm a litte too patriotic. Those who know me well no exactly as to what I'm referring. :P.
Celebrating Canada day also means long weekend. wahoo. What started out as no plans for the weekend turned out to be pretty busy.
Thursday night I went out with my book discussion group to a bbq and then mini golfing to celebrate our last meeting. That was lots of fun. Afterwards a few of us went to Curtis' for a late night swim. Nice!
Friday was Canada day. I slept in until almost noon. Rock on. I then did a bunch of cleaning, laundry, showered and then headed over to Sarah's for another bbq with a few other "losers" who had no plans for the long weekend. We headed out to the new William's by Conestoga mall and then we drove back to our area of town parked the car and started walking to Columbia lake for fireworks. After 30 mins of walking, treking through cornfields, entering construction zones, being accused of trespassing we finally found the perfect spot. On the other side of the lake from everyone else so there was barely anyone around us so it felt as if the fireworks were especially for us. They were awesome.
Saturday morning rolled around. My parents decided to come up for the day so they took us out to the Farmer's Market and then we went looking for apartments. It was great to have them driving us around otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see as many places. I then did some graphic stuff for work (yep, even on a long weekend). At 11pm Amanda and I decided to rent CSI Season 2 and proceed to watch a few episodes.
Sunday morning, I woke up with a major headache... probably from not enough sleep. So I decided not to go into church. I still got called (I wasn't aware that my job entailed being on call!) to so something. I understand the dilema it presented but still. oi. Once I got that taken care of I head off to sleep again! Sweet! In the evening I again headed out to a bbq. Jessica and Rachel were there which was really cool. I worked on more work stuff (yep, again). After a few CSI's and monday morning denial I headed to bed pretty late.
Monday morning was brutal. Oi. But it was worth it b/c I had a pretty great weekend.
Monday evening I headed to Embassy with Michelle S. afterwards we went bowling. Tonnes of people went and it was a great time! Thanks Adam! Because a few of us were pretty hungry (somehow a smoothy for dinner just didn't cut it) we headed over to Morty's for wings. Good times!
Tuesday night I had my last tennis class. I'm sad that it is done. I really enjoyed it. I'll also miss hanging out with Lisa every week. Well, now I at least know how to play!
Tonight, I headed from work to meet my sister. We went and had a look at another apartment and then went to my old roommate Cheryl's for dinner. Mmm, spaghetti. For dessert we headed out to A Whole Lotta Gellata. It was really good.
So that's it for now. Tomorrow night I've got no plans... well no social plans. I've got a tonne of graphic and promotional work to do so yeah, fun stuff.

so much for that

Well, I've been caught slacking again. I promised to update this blog more regularly but I think that lasted all of a few days.
My life has been pretty busy lately. Things were running a-muck for a bit there but I'm finally starting to get a handle on things. Definitely not getting enough sleep though. This is like the 4th or 5th night I've been up past 1:30am. Not necessarily a good habit to get into. Speaking of which, I need to go to sleep now. I promise, promise to write more tomorrow. Night all!
